If you are a true gadget lover, then this is something you would really appreciate. Recently, Panasonic unveiled the world’s thinnest, portable projector which is one of its kinds at CEATEC Japan 2012. This 100-lumen laser projector named as OIU is the world’s slimmest projector measuring at about 7.5mm of thickness as claimed by the Panasonic team during the showcase.
The portability of this amazing laser projector is the key benefit to all the users who love to carry small devices with big things in them. This invention can lead to the birth of smartphones inheriting tiny, slim projector within them that can be kept easily in a 60-inch pocket which is quite attractive for the tech-savvy people. Moreover, it can be useful to the students having class presentations, assignments or any science project exhibitions to showcase their talent.
The display of new Panasonic portable laser projector has better resolution than the Galaxy Beam which gives only 640 x 360 px with 15 lumen brightness. However, the display of Panasonic’s OIU needs to be improved before rolling out in the market as the version show-cased at CEATEC could only reflect a resolution of 800 x 480 px. Plus the power consumption also needs to be taken care of so that users can be able to enjoy long-lasting view of files, images and other necessary documents.
It is quite interesting to know that technology is getting advanced day by day and the inventions like Panasonic’s slimmest laser projector would make us enable to carry high resolution cinemas fitted in our smartphones in the near future.
