This paper made keyboard mainly utilizes the accelerometer to grab the vibrations rooted by taping a surface. The device is operated by an associated iPhone app which is also a part of Kraeutli’s creative mind, produces the relevant frequencies of the vibrations into logical key hits.
The whole execution process has been accomplished by jailbreaking an iPhone 4 app. While expressing his feelings about such a master piece of intelligence in an interview to TheTelegraph, Kraeutli states that,
“The signals I’m collecting are very weak. At the moment it’s more of a proof of concept but if you made the accelerometer more sensitive you could improve the accuracy quite easily.”
Seeking for more improvements, Kreautli says that there’s still yet to be achieved. For the time being, this keyboard is able to give out only 80% of its capacity and only a few keys are functional. On this note, the brilliant youngster shows his motivation to enhance it in a more comprehensive way so that it can turn into what he has expected it to be.
