How To Change The Owner Name In Windows

Today I'm going to tell you a simple procedure using which one can easily change the name of the registered owner in Windows. This tip might help you lot in case if you purchased a used computer from someone.

To change the owner name of the Windows first you need to go to Registry Editor by typing regedit in Run or simply type regedit in the Start Menu search box. Now you need to navigate to the following registry key on the Registry Editor.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion

From here now you can change the name of the registered owner and registered organization of the Windows using the RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization keys. In addition, you can also change many other attributes of your Windows as well.

In order to see the changed attributes (RegisteredOwner and RegisteredOrganization keys), simply type winver in Run to see the About Windows box that will be similar to the picture shown below.
