How To Speed Up iOS 6 App Store Performance

Soon after I updated my iPhone to the recent iOS 6, I started to realize that the App store doesn’t work as efficiently as the prior one. Undoubtedly there are many other fascinating features of iOS 6 however; the major issue that needs to be fixed is its slow speed while browsing through apps. This sluggishness can have influence on the recent apple devices which may include iPhone 5 and iPad 3rd Gen. Latterly, after browsing through various posts over the web; I got successful in finding a better solution to fix this problem and thought that I should share it with you people having the similar issues.

  1. Go to Settings. Tap on the “Privacy” and then on “Location Services”.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Search for the “System Services” menu. Just tap on it.
  3. You will be able to see “Genius for Apps”setting, just flip the switch to “OFF” mode and that’s it!
  4. Double Tap the Home Button and then press and hold on the App Store icon to exit.
  5. Restart your App Store and you will feel the difference!

Turning off the “Genius for Apps” setting will minimize the speed problems of the App Store that occur randomly. Genius for Apps mainly causes background processes to occur which consequently minimizes the performance of App store while navigating for the apps. Therefore, by switching it to OFF mode, the Genius setting will not be able to process further and the speed will increase. I hope the Apple’s team would definitely look into this matter just like they did for their Maps issue.
