NASA is looking to launch five rockets within about five
minutes from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia in order to test the
winds in high-altitude jet stream. These jets are able to forecast weather in
ionosphere as well, in addition the process time of these jets will be
considerably less than the jets who are currently doing the weather
forecasting.
The five NASA jets will carry a milky white tracer chemical
into the high-altitude jet stream to test the charged particles and electric
currents there which can interfere with spacecraft and satellite
communications. This will also help the NASA to overcome different atmospheric
problems and to improve spaceflight and satellite design.
