Root HTC One X On Android 4.0 Using Superboot

Super users and Geeks are always looking to root their Android devices including smartphones and tablets to get most out of their device and to increase the functionality of the device, in more particular words rooting is the process of gaining the “root access” of that device. HTC along with MoDaCo - Paul O’Brien come with a new package known as Superboot that will allow the device to root on its very first boot by simply installing su and the superuser APK. This utility is compatible with all those HTC handsets that have S-OFF and HTCdev unlocked bootloader features. This package will allow the users to taste the charm of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich features. The HTC One X has yet to hit the markets, but we have already a procedure to root it to Android 4.0, thanks to Superboot.

The best thing about the Superboot is that users can use it on Windows, Mac, and Linux systems to root HTC One X or any other compatible device.

Procedure:
Step # 01: First of all you need to download the Superboot .zip file to your PC.

Step # 02: Now you need to boot your device into bootloader mode, you can active it by power-off the handset, and then turn on the device by pressing the ‘volume down’ button.

Step # 03: Simply extract the ‘r1-endeavor-superboot.zip‘ that you downloaded in the first step.

Step # 04: Below are the separate steps/commands for the Windows, Mac, and Linux users respectively:

Windows: Double click on ‘install-superboot-windows.bat‘ file.

Mac: Open the Terminal application that must be pointing to directory that contains the extracted files and type the following command without commas:
"chmod +x install-superboot-mac.sh ./install-superboot-mac.sh"

Linux: Open Terminal application on your Linux OS that is pointing the directory where extracted the files are restored. Type the following command without commas:
"chmod +x install-superboot-linux.sh ./install-superboot-linux.sh"

This is it, after some simple steps the rooting process of the HTC One X will be completed. Enjoy!
